Walk along the wall on the right side of the screen in the basement
of the general store. A secret room will open up that contains a
bunch of gold and a magic wand.
Secret room 2:

If you go inside one of the houses near the bottom of the map, one of
them has a bed that you can push out of the way, revealing a secret
basement room.
